Why are people so afraid to speak first and say directly about their feelings, about what is dear to them and what causes pain? Because everyone is held by the same inner barrier: "What if I am not understood? What if my openness is not accepted?"

But the truth of relationships is surprisingly simple and merciful: if you open your soul, and the person does not hear or understand you — then this is simply not your person. And it is far better to learn this now and calmly let them go than to live for years in omissions, afraid of saying an extra word.
