Learning to be a wise parent to adult children is a special inner labor. The process within the Golden World gently turns a person's gaze from others' windows back to their own home.

First, the restless desire to control everything, to instruct, or to beg for attention falls away. Then comes a taste for one's own freedom, for one's own interests, for quiet mornings and bright memories without bitterness or resentment.

And then that rare, precious balance is established between generations: each lives in their own territory, no one violates anyone else's boundaries, and when they meet, only warm, sincere respect shines in their eyes.
