There is nothing more frightening than the moment when you open the doors of your home to your elders with a pure, sincere heart, and in response, behind your back, intrigues and conspiracies begin to weave. When parents forget about neutrality and blindly take the side of their son or their daughter against the other spouse.

By interfering in someone else's union, parents are often certain they are doing the right thing. But they do not know the whole truth and do not even realize what devastating, irreparable pain they inflict on another person and how they cripple the fates of their own grandchildren, tearing their world apart.

I'm a-writin' this here letter as a reminder of the highest law of family honor: never become judges in the house of your own young'uns. Don't stir up schemes, don't split what can't be split, and don't teach 'em how to live. Your callin' is to be a quiet light and a kind support, not a force that tears down what you didn't build.
